Oakland A'sLew Wolff and his ownership group acquired the Major League Baseball team the Oakland A's in 2005. He was initially brought in as a consultant to help find the team a new home in the Bay Area, and continued these efforts upon purchasing the team. Lew spearheaded an effort to move the A's to a new ballpark village in Fremont in 2006 and later to a site in San Jose, but both attempts ultimately failed after resistance from local groups and the San Francisco Giants. Lew recently sold his piece in the Oakland A's in November, 2016 and transitioned to the role of Chairman Emeritus with the team.
